Nomad Centre receives our Reverse Advent Calendar

During the weeks of Advent, we have had a Reverse Advent Calendar in our church. Our Reverse Advent Calendar has offered people an opportunity to add something to the calendar, rather than take something away, and we have been asking for donations such as toiletries and other items.

Today (23rd December 2019) the items offered to this year’s Reverse Advent Calendar have been delivered to the Nomad Centre in Lincoln, which seeks to provide shelter and support to those in need. We wish to thank everyone who supported this year’s Reverse Advent Calendar, and we wish our friends at Nomad and Lincolnshire YMCA a very happy Christmas.

In related news, we are pleased to report that the recent Magdala Designs Eco Pop-Up Shop raised over £300 for the Nomad Trust and our Ugandan Education Project, and the Festival Jazz Concert (organised by Jane and Geoff Harris and held in church on Saturday, 14th December 2019) raised £553 for the Nomad Trust. We are most grateful to Richard King and friends, who entertained a full church and provided such an enjoyable occasion for a great cause.

Leah Crampton from St Mary’s Church offers the items collected through the Reverse Advent Calendar.
